About the event

In recent years, the way audiences consume film and TV content has dramatically changed and it’s becoming increasingly tricky to identify and understand what the marketplace wants from Australian-made content - both domestically and internationally.

In this session, Roadshow Films’ Head of Australian Content Edwina Waddy, who is responsible for the company’s development and production slate of Australian and NZ projects, joins us to demystify the current landscape for Australian filmmakers and provide practical insights and information on what producers can do to successfully craft and target their content for the marketplace here and overseas.

Drawing on her extensive experience of both distribution and production over a 30-year career in the screen industry, Edwina will share her advice on creating Australian stories that sell - and why it’s so important to consider audience and marketplace from the very beginning of project development. We’ll also hear about her passion for Aussie content and why she thinks content quotas will be a good thing for the Australian screen industry.
