About David Hannam
A former journalist, David Hannam has a slate of original projects in development in both Australia and the UK. He is a writer and executive producer on Acorn's first Australian original drama Darby and Joan, starring Bryan Brown and Greta Scacchi, which was released in August 2022 to critical acclaim. He is currently developing season two, after consulting and writing for Paramount+ music industry thriller Paper Dolls.
Previous work includes pieces in almost every genre, including the ground-breaking Australian bio-pic Carlotta, and hit Prisoner reboot, Wentworth. His other writing and creative producing credits include multiple seasons of NBCU's Emmy-winning sci-fi, Nowhere Boys, the thrillers Wanted, and Secret Bridesmaids' Business, currently being adapted by NBC in the US, and period dramas The Doctor Blake Mysteries and A Place to Call Home.
